Center for Gifted Studies

Overview

The Center for Gifted Studies (CGS) at John Hopkins Middle School provides a full-time, enriching program where gifted students develop their talent, creativity, and critical thinking skills in a supportive, rigorous environment. Students receive their gifted services in self-contained classes taught by gifted-endorsed teachers, engaging in interdisciplinary courses that incorporate depth and complexity, creative and critical thinking, leadership development, and supplemental gifted curriculum.

In addition to rigorous academic experiences, students in CGS automatically have access to personalized learning opportunities through focus areas in the Center for the Arts or Journalism magnet programs, as well as the advanced academics gifted course, high school credit courses, and enrichment opportunities. With access to two full-time magnet programs through CGS - we offer the most unique program experience within the entire district, right at John Hopkins!
